Judge Stracener announces bid for election
To the delight of assembled supporters, Judge Warren C. (Curt) Stracener today announced he will seek election to the El Dorado County Superior Court. His announcement came during a meeting with local residents urging him to run for retention as Superior Court Judge.
Condemning judicial activism, Stracener told supporters “as a judge, I am honored to serve the people of El Dorado County. I will continue to provide fair, honest, respectful, and impartial justice to all and will not legislate from the bench”.
"Curt has proven that he is tough, fair and even-handed in applying the law. El Dorado County is fortunate to have someone like Judge Stracener on the bench," explained Debbie Endsley, longtime El Dorado County resident and former Director of the California Department of Personnel Administration.
Prior to his appointment to the Superior Court bench, Judge Stracener served as a senior ligator and legal advisor with the California Department of Personnel Administration. Judge Stracener’s 23-year public and private sector legal career has been highlighted by appearances before the California Court of Appeal, the California Supreme Court, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeal and the United States Supreme Court. Judge Stracener also taught high school for 11 years, eight of which was in the nearby San Juan Unified High School District. He and his family have lived in El Dorado County for over 15 years.
During his speech, Judge Stracener further announced that he has earned the endorsements of El Dorado County Superior Court Judge Kenneth J. Melikian, Supervisor Ron Briggs, former Supervisor Rusty Dupray, Solano County Delinquency Presiding Judge Robert C. Fracchia, Santa Clara County Supervising Dependency Judge Shawna Schwartz and other community leaders.
