

Robert (Bob) Adolph Bado, a beloved husband, Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, brother and friend passed away peacefully at home with his family, after a 30-year battle with prostate cancer. He was 87. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Doris; his daughter, Cherryl Stillwell; sons, John Bado (Diane) and Bob Bado (Molly); his grandchildren, Gary, Michelle, D. Brian, Stephanie, John and Chelsea; 11 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Gloria Boddeker and Aloha Engholm.
Bob served in the Navy in the Pacific in World War II as a Aviation Machinist Mate with CASU 16 & 44. Before retiring to Placerville in 1976 he was a plumbing contractor in West Covina, Calif. Not one to be idle, he started growing wine grapes and then bought and built up the Mining Brook Ranch and Pie shop. He became a lifetime member of the American Legion, Post 119, and the VFW No. 260, as well as a member of 40/8 Hangtown Voiture and the fishing club the Castaways.
Bob loved to fish, hunt, read, garden, travel and spend time with his family and friends. He was also known as the “birdhouse man” for his many hand-made decorative birdhouses. He will be missed by his family and friends.
At the request of the family no services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home in Placerville.
