Placerville Police Department, Aug 7 2012
On Wednesday, August 1, 2012, the Placerville Police Department removed an illegal homeless camp from the North side of 1600-1700 block of Broadway and Lumsden Park. The PPD coordinated the effort with other City workers in removing the homeless camp along the Broadway cooridor. Four inmate workers loaded approximately 45 yards of trash and debris left behind by the previous occupiers of the land.
It was believed that most of the previous occupants have since moved into the temporary homeless camp, "Hangtown Haven". The Placerville Police Department will be continuing to locate and remove any other illegal camps within the City limits.
