Fire Burning in Heavy Timber near Sly Park now Contained (video)

Fire crews are getting a handle on a fire burning southeast of Jenkinson Lake near Sly Park.
The fire was first reported Sunday afternoon near the Sly Park reservoir. Crews worked through the night, securing a line around the southern end of the wildfire. CAL FIRE is assisting the US Forest Service with a fire off Mormon Emigrant Trail.
No structures were reported threatened this morning, according to fire officials. Crews are reported today to have secured a line around most of the fire.
Mopping up began Tuesday on a fire that has charred 45 acres of timber and brush southeast of Jenkinson Lake in El Dorado County.
Firefighters will conduct mop-up operations and continue to build a secure fire line today. The fire was 90 percent contained on Tuesday morning.
Cause of the fire is under investigation.
