Shasta Inmates may Come to El Dorado County Jail

Shasta County Supervisors are set to vote on two contracts: one sending inmates to jail in Lassen County and one for bed space in El Dorado County.

The contracts for Lassen County calls for $63 per day per inmate, while the El Dorado County agreement costs $90 for each inmate day. That comes out to $32,850 per prisoner for one year in El Dorado County...
He also has said contracts with Alameda and Mendocino counties could be in the works and the contracts he has considered cost between $65 and $120 per inmate day.
... The agreement for El Dorado County says "primarily" only inmates who already have been sentenced would be sent there, and the contract covers only male inmates...
