Mark Meckler is a co-founder of Tea Party Patriots, the largest and most prominent Tea Party organization in the nation. He is a regular commentator on television and radio. Mark is not a politician, and he's not from a wealthy or connected family. He's just an average American citizen committed to the fight to return the country to self governance.
Who is this fine Patiort? It is Mark Meckler and he will be at our meeting this Thursday night! We are honored and blessed to have him! We will also be hearing some words of wisdom and encouragement from Patty, Mark’s wonderful wife.
The Tea Party Patriots concept began in February of 2009 when a reporter at the Chicago Stock Exchange said, "It‘s time for another Boston Tea Party." Immediately after that comment, the internet East Contra Coast Tea Partyexploded with people from every part of the country, all walks of life and both sides of the aisle shouting a resounding "YES" in agreement. Little did that reporter realize that his comment would spark a flame that is burning brighter every day.
The first local Tea Party event was held on February 27, 2009 at the California State Capitol. Planning began in the living room of Mark and Patty Meckler, ordinary citizens of Grass Valley, who felt strongly that their government was out of control. With no money, no publicity other than word of mouth and with very little planning, Mark, Patty, their two kids and Mark‘s mom and dad headed to Sacramento armed with their passion and a few signs. At first, they were the only ones there. Little by little, people trickled in and within a few hours there were over 150 people protesting out of control government spending and waste. These too were just ordinary citizens who had said, "Enough is enough."
This is a must attend meeting! You will be encouraged and so glad you came. Attached you will find a flyer for this Thursday’s meeting and the Agenda. Our meeting will be at the Cameron Park Fire Department Conference Room, Station 89, at: 3200 Country Club Drive. Mingling will begin at 6:45 and the meeting will begin promply at 7p. As always, we also need people to bring refreshments. Please respond to this email and let me know what you would like to bring. We have one person bringing cookies and I will have tea, sweetener, plates and napkins. But, we need more than that. Please – everyone bring something! Also – bring a friend or three, as well!
