Please join us for the "Man Bellies and Hairy Backs" car wash on Sunday, July 29th at Breaker Glass on Placerville Dr., 9am - 3pm. Proceeds to sponsor the 7th annual Kacie's Ride for Hope on Sept. 8th, 2012. Raising money for the Center for Violence-Free Relationships.
Your car will leave squeaky clean, and you'll definitely get lots of smiles from our great crew!!
While your car gets scrubbed, pick up your tickets for a chance to win a brand new Husqvarna riding mower!! $5 each- a great opportunity that you don't want to miss! Huge thanks to Camino Outdoor Power for generously donating the mower.
Some have asked, why "Man Bellies and Hairy Backs?"
Well, at our age, hairy backs are a given, but beer bellies are not. In fact, many are beer-free bellies, but all are definitely 100% man!! Plus, it's fun. Such a dark cause we fight for, so it is nice to see smiles. :)
Hope to see you all out there as a great kick start to this year's ride!
As always, THANK YOU for your continued support- we could not do it without you!!

Overview
About Kacies Ride by Pat Barron
I would like to invite you all to join us this year for "Kacie's Ride For Hope". The 6th Annual Kacie's ride will be held on Sept 8th, 2012. It is getting bigger and better every year. Join us whether you ride or not! I personally thank each and every one of you that have assisted and participated in this event. It would not happen without you!!!
Our little putt through the High Sierra is getting pretty well known in Placerville and outlying areas. Each year our contribution towards "the Center" has grown considerably, ultimately assisting victims of domestic violence. Our goal is to provide much needed funds to the Center for violence free relationships. We not only provide monetary support, we are opening the public's eyes to the Domestic Violence that is happening all around us.
I have a personal connection to "Kacie's Ride For Hope." My little sister Kacie was shot to death in the driveway of her home by her ex-boyfriend on the 26th of July, 2006. She was only forty and left a fine young son. See the "Discussions" tab for details about Kacie's tragedy as well as other victims in our community.
My sister Kacie liked to ride, one of her favorites was the "Hope Valley Run" In those days it was a three day party, but nowadays we put a little different twist on it. We are tired of what is happening to families due to domestic violence. There is no excuse to use violence to solve a dispute. It never works. Kacie was also a client and supporter of the "Center." If she were here today you would see her face at the microphone running the show. I wish she was!
Nothing is going to bring my Little Sister back, but we can prevent other tragedies like this by supporting this cause. Come ride with us, and spread the word at home and in your County so that we can all work towards an end to Domestic Violence. Let's make this a statewide and then a nationwide effort.
