Mr. Machado should be picking up trash on Main Street, cleaning the city parks, or better yet, washing the windows at City Hall that were so tainted by his actions.
Dear Mr. Cleve Morris, city manager of the City of Placerville,
This letter is in response to the Mountain Democrat article on Friday, July 6, 2012, where the headline read, “Homeless Camp in Placerville is OK’d.” Much to my disappointment, Dave Machado has been appointed as project manager for the creation of the homeless camp. If you were the decision-maker in this appointment, I hope you will reconsider your decision. And if you were not the decision-maker, I hope you will forward this letter on to the person, or entity that made this mistake.
Mr. Machado should not be given any position that can get him good publicity. His actions toward the City of Placerville were reprehensible and he has been found guilty in the court of law. Why are you granting him a position that could only glorify him in the public? I certainly think it would be appropriate if Mr. Machado were doing physical labor to start the camp, but not be in a white collar position — that’s what got him into trouble in the first place. Mr. Machado should be picking up trash on Main Street, cleaning the city parks, or better yet, washing the windows at City Hall that were so tainted by his actions.
I hope there is a public outcry about appointing Mr. Machado as project manager; he is not deserving of this position.
