American Sprint Car Series National Tour Hits Placervill Speedway Wednesday Night

Placerville Speedway is known for some of the best sprint car racing in Northern California on any given Saturday night and annually the track hosts what has become known as Wild Winged Wednesday. Well, tonight is sure to be wilder than ever before as the nationally known American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) roars in to ignite the foothill bullring.
Tonight’s weeknight billing will thrill area fans with a high-caliber event worth more than $20,000 as the best drivers in the nation go face-to-face with the Placerville Posse and some of Northern California’s best racing talent.
Several of the top gunslingers taking part in the shootout include Oklahoma’s Brady Bacon, Dustin Morgan, Tony Bruce Jr. and Matt Covington along with Nebraska’s Jack Dover, Johnny Herrera from New Mexico and Aron Reutzel of Texas.

This race is a huge financial undertaking but the great fan base we have in El Dorado and Sacramento county supports it well. As they return to Placerville Speedway for just their second ever visit in track history, the ASCS will being with it a competitive battle for the 2012 National Championship. Leading the point standings is series point-leader Jason Johnson. The Ragin’s Cajun has garnered five tour victories in 2012 and looks to maintain his point lead over second place point-runner Wayne Johnson. Brady Bacon is third with Johnny Herrera sitting fourth over Brady Loyet, Tony Bruce Jr., Seth Bergman, Dustin Morgan, Logan Forler and Gary Wright.
Placerville Speedway is the first in a California Speedweek for the stars of the ASCS. After Wednesday’s program the tour travels to Kings Speedway in Hanford followed by a visit to Santa Maria Speedway.
Advanced tickets, all general seating, are currently on sale for Wednesday’s event through the business office of Placerville Speedway. Adult tickets are $20, seniors are $18, juniors are $12 and children, $6. The gates to the grandstands open at 5 p.m.
