Lawsuit Shutters Pollock Pines' Only Coffee Shop

If you live in Pollock, everyone knows the owners of the Pony Espresso have been complaining about slow business since the crash in 2008. We have all heard them talking about closing for the past two years. ADA non-compliance did not close the coffee shop, it was the owners, they decided to close the business. The ADA non-compliance issues they had would not cost thousands of dollars to repair, only hundreds. And absolutely no sympathy for the owners, as they have had 20 years to get the building in compliance, they chose not to. They must have chosen that route because they discriminate against PWD (people with disabilities). As well, the business owners should have done their homework before opening a business and learned that the building they use must be in ADA compliance. They chose not to have the building owners update the building to ADA compliance mandates. There is a ton of information about ADA compliance on the internet, at the County when you get your business license, at the State level who also helps explain ADA compliance. Ignorance of this law is not a legal defense, and at this point with all the hatred coming out of the community towards PWDs, in my opinion the businesses owners got what they deserved. And if you want to see about working solutions regarding ADA compliance issues and small businesses, do NOT attend anything by CEDAPP, Harper is/was just hosting a b*tch session against PWDs. If you ever wonder if your disability is welcomed in Pollock, forget it, take your business elsewhere as Pollock businesses do not want you. If was for more productive to attend the other ADA workshop held the same week, that was a tool to help small businesses understand the ADA regulations, how to work towards the compliance and what resources at Federal, State and County levels. CEDAPP was just a b*tch session for Ms. Harper. Actually if you talk to other business owners in Pollock, they DID NOT want the CEDAPP meeting, they did not want it in Pollock and they did not want others to attend because of the hatred CEDAPP has towards PWDs. Ms. Harper's stupidity of adding even more legislation to exisiting ADA compliance is waste of time and money. She wants businesses more time to become ADA compliant if at all, she does not seem to think there is a need for it. Well small businesses has had twenty years to get their businesses/buildings in compliance, and if they have not done it by now, giving them more will not do anything as they have not done it yet, means they are not going to. For all the tourists coming up to Tahoe on Hwy , DO NOT stop in Pollock, you are not welcome there, thanks to people like Nutting and Harper, stop in Placerville or keep driving to Fresh Pond, because Pollock is not ADA friendly. It is interesting how CEDAPP had a meeting with regarding to PWD and ADA compliance yet NOT ONE PWD was there or represented. It appears only able-bodied people are allowed to make determinations on how PWD are able to ambulate in their businesses.
