Well I went to my annual beer fest up in northern California just east of Sacramento. Little gold rush town of Placerville. They close off the town for Saturday evening.
Dented, Bad Dog Cafe, July 3, 2012Then the brewers setup inside all of the little stores and shops. Many of them provide appetizers and snacks for free. Others have inexpensive things like pulled pork sammies for 3 or 4 bucks on the street.
Breweries: Rubicon, High Sierra, Lost Coast, Blue Moon, Batch 19, Alaskan, Hoppy, Full Sail, Track 7, Firestone, Jack Russell, Gold Hill, American, Fox Barrel, Speakeasy, Stone, Shipyard & Erdinger, Black Diamond, Cielo, Sam Adams, Santa Cruz, Sudwerk, Oskar Blues, Mammoth, Anderson Valley, Lagunitas, Drakes, Bridgeport & Shiner, Mad River, Sierra Nevada, Grand Teton, Placerville, Old Hangtown Beerworks, Napa Smith, River City and Mendocino. Obviously a regional affair for the most part.
4 stages for music. Temperature around 75-80. Thirty bucks to get a wristband and an 8 ounce commemorative glass that they keep filling up everywhere you go. All you can drink. We had a group of six and we sang and danced our way around town. Fun times.
Our best beer was Grand Teton Holiday Ale, second was Lost Coast Tangerine (tasted great right after seafood dinner at Powells Oyster Bar)
Some of the bands that played. Lots of Tele's hanging out. Some fat guy in a photo with Steve Freund.
