The recent Proposition 218 rate change notice that customers received in the mail includes extensive tables showing the proposed rate changes for 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. In an effort to help residential customers estimate how the proposed rates would affect their bimonthly water, wastewater, and recycled water bill (for dual-plumbed homes), EID has placed rate calculators on the District’s website at
“The Proposition 218 notice contained a lot of information, with some extremely detailed rate tables,” said EID General Manager Jim Abercrombie. “These calculators should help our customers get a better idea about how the new rates would affect them in real terms.”
Customers can enter their consumption information for the services they receive from a recent bill into the calculator. The results will show the difference—in dollar terms and percentage—for each of the four years under the proposed rates.
Customers may also contact EID customer service at (530) 642-4000 with any questions.
