Robert Borthwick of Placerville arrested for Conspiring to Sell Marijuana in North Carolina
In a news release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, deputies said “an operation” that was conducted Thursday led to the seizure of about 2.7 lbs. of pot, 35 doses of Diazepam, three doses of Alprazolam, nine firearms with ammunition, and drug paraphernalia.
The estimated street value of the marijuana is $8,100, deputies said.
Deputies said a search was conducted as part of the operation, but it was not clear what type of building or vehicle was searched or where the search took place.
Robert Arnold Borthwick, 52, of 1380 Moccasin Trail in Placerville, Calif., was charged as a result of the search, deputies said.
Borthwick has been charged with conspiring to sell and deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture and sell Schedule IV substances, simple possession of Schedule IV substances, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The suspect was jailed under a $60,000 secured bond.
Deputies said officers with the Archdale and High Point police departments aided in the investigation.
No other details about the search or investigation were provided.
