The El Dorado County Fair opened today, offering two buildings of arts and crafts for fairgoers to view and enjoy. Photography and Fine Arts competitors share the Organ Room with the mineralogical exhibit, while the remaining displays fill the Marshall Building (labeled Home Arts Building on fair maps). The Fair runs through June 17 at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in Placerville.Most categories of competition had many entries. This can make viewing them a little overwhelming. Take your time going through the displays and enjoy the creativity and skill of El Dorado County artisans and crafters.
Fine Art
Pencil sketches, acrylic paintings and other media fill walls in the Organ Room. With 20 fine arts classes for non-professionals, 30 classes for El Dorado County subjects and 20 for professional artists, the competition accommodates a wide number of adult artists.
